Mint Chocolate Tea Infused Cocktails
December is here, and that means the countdown to Christmas has officially begun! With holiday parties in full swing, it's more important than ever to have a roster of impressive holiday treats (which we've been working on!) and cocktails on hand, and this week we have just the thing. Mint Chocolate Tea-Infused cocktails!
A hybrid between tea, hot cocoa, and creamy cocktail, this sweet festive treat is the perfect match for a cozy night in by the fireside, or a fun evening spent amongst friends. We also recommend pouring some into a to-go cup for a walk around your neighbourhood to look at your neighbour's Christmas light displays if you get the chance!
Simple and delicious, we opted to make this drink without any dairy so everyone can enjoy it, but you're welcome to switch out the chocolate soy milk in favour of real chocolate milk if you prefer the classics. It can also be made kid-friendly by simply omitting the alcohol!
Sloane Fine Tea Merchant's Chocolate Mint Black Tea Chocolate Soy Milk (we used Natura Brand) Galliano Vanilla Liqueur Organic Peppermint Extract Whipped Cream, candy canes and/or Sprinkles (optional)
1 // Steep 5 teaspoons of chocolate mint tea in 12oz of boiling water for 3 minutes. Split the steeped tea equally into two cups or mugs of your choosing.
2 // Heat the chocolate soy milk over medium-low heat in a small saucepan. Stir constantly to avoid letting it burn. Once it's warm enough to be classified as "hot chocolate", take the pot off of the stove and pour on top of the tea, leaving at least an inch of space at the top.
3 // Add a drop of peppermint extract (to taste) and a shot of Galliano. Stir thoroughly and top with a candy cane, sprinkles, whipped cream, or other garnish of your choice! Serve immediately.
