You know that feeling of not having anything to wear? We've all been there, and when it comes to finding a dress for an event, that pressure is even greater. It's no secret that I love my sparkly party dresses as much as the next girl, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather spend my hard-earned money on investment pieces that I'm going to get more wear out of than a dress I'll only wear a handful of times.
Enter Fitzroy Boutique's new dress rental program, a brilliant solution for those of us who want to be able to wear our favourite brands but without the long-term commitment. Earlier this summer when we were planning our Strawberry Full Moon Party, we turned to the local boutique and their selection of party-perfect options to style up our girls for the event, opting for dresses in shades of pink, delicate lace and shimmering metallic tones to highlight our theme, and with TIFF fast approaching we'll also be turning to the rental collection to outfit ourselves for any parties or events we find ourselves attending.
I talked to Fitzroy's Angela about the details of the dress rental collection:
"We found our customers were getting tired of spending so much money on "wear once" dresses for weddings and events, so we launched rental program so you can wear something different every time and not feel guilty about it. Dresses can be reserved in advance or you can grab something last-minute to wear that night. Our rental rates range from $50 - $90 for 4 days, or we also have an 8 day rate if you're going on a trip or to a destination wedding. All rates include the dry-cleaning, taken care of by us between each rental. Our rental brands include boho faves For Love and Lemons, Show Me Your Mumu and Free People, and the collection is growing all the time."
You can view the rental collection online and visit the store at 98 Ossington to try on and reserve the dresses. Their current pop-up here runs until September 30th but they're currently looking for a permanent space to open a dress rental studio and grow the collection. Follow Fitzroy Boutique on Instagram to find out where they end up!
